On Meditation, Second Brains, AI Conversations, and Reality

On AI · 2026 · by Gui Perdrix

Also on Substack.

Today, just going back to the basics - a newsletter sharing what I learned, what caught my attention, what I’m pondering on. Hope you get something from it. Have a great end of week!

The Habit I Started Again

Meditation. I recently stopped smoking nicotine again (after picking it up.. on my birthday - great start, Gui!) and that cheap dopamine was missing.

Have been meditating 45min every morning the last 3 days, and it helped to rebalance the dopamine. Doing it simple: just focus on the nose breath. And keep coming back to it whenever you mind drifts away (which it literally always does).

Another trick: doing HIIT work-outs. Was never a fan of it until my friend Fabrice told me about starting your day with it. YouTube has lots of it. 10min or 15min every morning, and it gets your neurons fired up (and also, puts me in my body).

First Recorded AI Podcast

Had a great chat with my friend Frederick Geoffrois from Coco Community, who also took the Timeback Bootcamp.

We built live an app that asked us questions on how we use AI in our day to day.

Watch on YouTube

This was the first podcast where, most of the time, I didn’t feel like recording a podcast, but actually having a conversation. Loved it.

Learning of the Week

We’re all students.

That’s what I realized yesterday when Ruben Hassid - a lead AI influencer with 750,000 subscribers on Substack - sent a newsletter writing: “I got it all wrong with using Claude in projects.”

Not only did the master of AI have it wrong. But I realized that even in his newest version of how to use Claude, I disagreed with him.

That I had a better system.

And then it hit me:

He’s like me, he’s just trying to figure it out.

And so I realized:

All teachers are students.

It’s a weird trap to be in, making you feel at the edge of not qualified to teach at times. But then you remember: in order to give value to someone else, you only need to be one step ahead. That step already is valuable.

And hence:

We all can be teachers, too.

What I’m Building

My second brain. I finally managed it!

After months watching other people doing it… now, my Claude know EVERYTHING about me: who I am, every email I ever wrote, all my thoughts I ever wrote down, all my meeting recordings.

And the results are insane.

Any question I have… it just knows it all.

I literally just finished building this an hour ago. I haven’t been that happy in ages!

I can’t wait to share more about it soon. This is just nuts.

The newest Timeback Cohort. I’m super excited to start it next Tuesday. The more I get into Claude and AI, the more I realize less is more. I’m happy that finally I figured out a system that’s teachable in less than 30 minutes.

Anyone sending you complex courses of 60-hour videos is just wasting your time. What takes time to implementation, not knowledge.

By the way, tomorrow morning we’re hosting our last webinar, where I’ll showcase our system. You can join here.

What I’m Grateful For

My dog. We went running together for the first time yesterday. He did a 7km along the beach and was running around like crazy - so he probably did 10km.

Pombal running next to me yesterday. He didn’t even care chasing the birds.

Can’t wait to share more moments with him. And bring him to my coworking. And work meetings. And life!

PS: Want to follow our running journey? Follow Pombal on Instagram and my running on Strava.

Someone shared with me before:

“Dogs are just incredible because they’re balls of unconditional love.”

And I must say: it’s true.

Quote That Touched Me

Shared by my good friend Fabrice again.

The ego builds itself on security. The being builds itself on truth.

Don’t fight reality. Embrace it.

That’s it.

Love,

Gui
